Description
The first release in this cute series depicts a baby kookaburra. The kookaburra is a kingfisher native to Australia and best known for its unmistakable call, which sounds uncannily like human laughter. This beautiful bird is believed to mate for life, and when coupled, both male and female of the species share the incubation duties of their unhatched eggs. Territorial, but with a distinct social order, kookaburras in the same family group share the parenting duties.
The coin’s reverse depicts an irresistible coloured image capturing the curiosity and mischievousness of a beautiful baby kookaburra. As well as The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the design features a ‘friendly’ Australian insect and delicately frosted representations of Australian bush flowers.
No more than 10,000 coins will be produced which is presented in a presentation case and comes with numbered certificate.
