Description

This coin features a dolphin bursting from the water (and seemingly the coin) and celebrates the 150th anniversary of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) in Australia. Dolphins are a joy to spot and are known to be social – they can often be seen surfing the waves and following in the wake of boats.

The Royal Australian Mint has partnered with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the organisation’s work in Australia. Founded in London in 1824 and then in Australia in 1871, the RSPCA works to protect all animals from cruelty.

An independent charity, the organisation relies on community support to run animal rehoming shelters, investigate complaints of animal cruelty and educate the community about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.

The RSPCA promotes the welfare of all animals. In fact, its moniker is “for all creatures, great and small”.

This colourful dolphin coin conveys the energy and athleticism of these fish-loving mammals, with a dollar from the sale of every dolphin coin to go to the RSPCA to help them continue their important work.

Each dolphin coin includes the following features:

  • Unique, colourful design
  • Limited mintage of 22,500
  • Uncirculated finish
