Animalia is a classic Australian children's book, written and illustrated by Graeme Base.
Celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2021, the much loved book has now been captured on a coloured 20cent coin for posterity.
This is the first release in a new series that will celebrate a different classic Australian children's book each year.
First published in 1986, more than three million copies of Animalia have now been sold worldwide.
The book has since been turned into a television series and adapted for babies with My First Animalia.
The Animalia postal numismatic cover is highly collectable, featuring a pictorial envelope with postmarked printed MyStamp and a coin from the Royal Australian Mint.
