2008 World Youth Day 1oz Silver Proof Coin
Description
World Youth Day is the largest youth event in the world and was held in Sydney from 15-20 July 2008.
Organised by the Catholic Church, World Youth Day gathers young people from around the world to build bridges of friendship and hope between continents, peoples and cultures.
With over 500,000 people are expected to attend at least one event over the 5 days.
The Perth Mint released this special 1oz silver proof coin to commemorated this event.
The design on the coin has Pope Benedict XVI and the official World Youth Day Sydney 2008 logo.
The coin comes housed in a timber presentation case with a colourful outer shipper case.
The coin also comes with a numbered certificate and is limited to no more 25,000 coins.
