2012 marks the 40th anniversary of friendship between China and Australia. The friendship between China and Australia has grown considerably over the years, with formal diplomatic relations established on 21 December 1972. Since that day, interaction between the people of China and Australia has blossomed in all facets of human endeavour.

Cross-migration, commerce, travel and study opportunities have fostered interpersonal links that have led to an increased understanding of each country’s unique culture, history and geography.
