Description
This wonderfully crafted pygmy possum coin is the fourth release in the Australian Opal series, showcasing nocturnal Australian animals created in pure Australian opal.
The pygmy possum is a mouse-sized marsupial with a long, prehensile tail that can curl around and grip branches. Often found in a leaf-lined nest in tree hollows, the pygmy possum feeds on nectar, pollen, seeds, fruit and small insects.
Like many Australian mammals, this unique creature is nocturnal and because they are so small, in order to conserve energy and keep warm, they can remain inactive for weeks at a time.
The coin’s reverse incorporates an inner panel design of a pygmy possum on a banksia branch, detailed in pure Australian opal.
Presented in a prestigious display case with a light, which turns on as you open the case, to represent the moon shining down on the nocturnal creature. This 1oz silver coin is accompanied by a stunning illustrated shipper and a numbered Certificate of Authenticity
