Description
Throughout many countries in the world, Christmas is a time of celebration and for honouring the ideals of peace, joy, hope and happiness.
Modern Christmas folklore tells the story of Santa Claus and his nine faithful reindeer, driving his sleigh through the night on Christmas Eve, delivering gifts to good boys and girls all over the world.
The 2014 Christmas Coin celebrates the story of Santa Claus and his reindeer.
The coin’s reverse features a snow covered house set against a backdrop of snowflakes falling from the night sky. A silhouette of Santa Claus and his sleigh with four reindeer is reflected across the moon as they fly through the sky.
Two festive stamp designs are featured on the envelope packaging, accompanying the 2014 Christmas coin.
Both of these official Australia Post 65 cent stamps are postmarked for the first day of issue. The envelope is endorsed with Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity and official number.
Each coin is presented in a specially designed display stamp and coin cover.
