The Perth Mint has released the latest silver release from The ANZAC Spirit 100th Anniversary Coin Series commemorating the Third Battle of Ypres.
Thousands of Australian troops took part in the bitter fighting during the Third Battle of Ypres in Belgium between 31 July and 10 November 1917. Although many of the attacks carried out by the Australians were successful, their forces incurred 38,000 casualties.* The fighting ended in early November when Canadian troops captured the village of Passchendaele. By then, British and Dominion forces had suffered more than 310,000 casualties.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 7,500 of The ANZAC Spirit 100th Anniversary Coin Series – Many Never Returned 2017 1oz Silver Proof Coin.
The coin’s reverse depicts a group of Australian soldiers coming back from the battlefields past the Cloth Hall in the town of Ypres.
The design includes the inscription ‘1917 Many Never Returned’,
Each coin is presented in a black and red display case with the words PRIDE, RESPECT and GRATITUDE inscribed on the outside of the case, within a themed shipper, and accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
