Description
The Perth Mint and Australia Post have released this stamp and coin cover which celebrates the beloved children’s picture book The Elf on the Shelf®.
During the Christmas season, magical Scout Elves watch over children and in the evening report back to Santa about a child’s behaviour. When a resident Scout Elf is given a name and is loved by a child, they are filled with special powers that enable them to fly to the North Pole and back. To keep their powers from disappearing, they are not to be touched but they can be spoken to, especially so they can deliver Christmas wishes to Santa. Before families wake up in the morning, the cheeky Scout Elves conceal themselves in different hiding places around the house.
Issued as Tuvalu legal tender, the uncirculated aluminium bronze coin is housed in a beautifully designed card with a circular window revealing the coin’s reverse and obverse designs.
Each coin portrays a coloured representation of a Scout Elf in Christmas attire. Included in the design is the inscription The Elf on the Shelf®.
